Last year, we helped people get well and live healthier at more than 565,000 patient encounters. The medical care we provide is only one part of the broad impact we have that adds up to more than $425 million over the course of a year. If you’re experiencing signs or symptoms of stroke, it’s important to get medical attention right away. The brain’s blood supply is reduced during a stroke, causing oxygen and nutrient loss. Since brain cells can die in mere minutes, strokes are medical emergencies that require prompt evaluation and treatment. To learn more, visit https://lnkd.in/gZfRqtu5 today.

We had an amazing week recognizing our nurses and celebrating all they do during #NationalNursesWeek. We appreciate and thank you — our nurses — for your service, commitment, leadership and living our mission.

This Hospital Week, we recognize all of our colleagues – whether that’s volunteers who greet our patients, dietary teams who deliver patient meals, laboratory technicians who run tests, clinicians who diagnose and treat illness, maintenance workers who keep equipment running – and all of the other (too many to count) people who keep our hospital going every day. Whatever their role may be – our people are for caring for our patients and strengthening our community. Together, #WeAreHealthcare.

Did you know your sleep changes as you age? Sleep architecture is how the brain’s sleep cycle is structured, and it includes both rapid eye movement (REM) sleep and non-REM (NREM) sleep. The more time your brain spends in the NREM stages, the more refreshed and alert you tend to feel throughout the day. But the adult brain spends less time in deep-stage NREM sleep as it ages. Want tips on how to optimize your sleep to feel more restful? Visit https://lnkd.in/gViP5Pwu to learn more. Are you having trouble sleeping? Talk to your health care provider about scheduling an appointment with the sleep center at Northwest Health. For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/euMRqVcj today.
