Sandlin & Parham

Our accountant scaled back on his clients for health reasons and suggested Sandlin & Parham as a replacement. We contacted them in early January, soon after we got the heads up. Our first meeting was great! Alisa sounded like she knew what she was doing and asked a lot of good questions. That was basically the last we heard from her. She did finish the 2 individual returns, but, as far as we can tell did absolutely nothing, save file an extension, for the company. No emails or phone calls were answered or replied to. Sat in her office one day until she made time, and was assured that we were close. Sent an email last week stating her/their services are no longer needed....and still didn't hear anything in reply.
We really wanted to like them and use them going forward, but ....
I'm certainly glad to hear that someone there responds and gets things done, however, I could not recommend and would suggest not even making the initial phone call....

I have used Sandlin and Parham for over 30 years both for my corporation and my personal taxes. They have always done a good job. They have always given competent advice. I would highly recommend them.

I have been a client of Sandlin & Parham for more than 25 years, and I chose them even though I live in Little Rock. I receive great service, accuracy, and a good refund on most occasions. They have been innovative to be certain I get the fairest treatment from the IRS, I have never been audited, and they return my call right away, or within 24 hours if it is heavy tax season. I have held a number of positions, had children at home as a single-parent, had rental property, changed my trust three times, have bought and sold residences several times, and have been through a divorce. They have rolled with the punches and never failed me once. If God forbid I ever face an audit, I know I will have their full support. But since I haven't been audited for almost 30 years, I give them credit for making sure the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed. Everybody there has always been nice to me, too.

Stay away from Sandlin and Parham. Communication is poor at best. Taxes will always be filed late with the accountant taking the liberty of filing extension after extension. If you own a corporation they are too lazy to run the numbers the next year to accurately figure the correct amount to pay toward the estimated taxes. We learned the hard way when we were a victim of identity theft and the refund we were owed was applied to the estimated taxes and the IRS is demanding we pay thousands again while they search in vain for months for the criminals. The accountant took her time filing our taxes after we turned in the paperwork missing her deadline and blaming it on her staff for putting it under a pile of other work. The criminals beat her to the filing. I'm out of 10k+ and Sandlin and Parham had the nerve to charge me again after they had to file it paper a second time. One of my best friends said the IRS is after him for 100k because of their mistakes. I have paid several small penalties to the IRS over the time I was with them for their miscalculations. The general attitude there is they could care less. Almost every time I called for some reason the accountant was always out of the office, in a meeting or off. I also got malware on my computer after they hooked up remotely to do the quarterly taxes. Their prices are also higher than many of the smaller accounting businesses.
